About Me

Greetings and a warm welcome to My Personal Website! I am Dr. Tohid Asheghi, a passionate civil engineer with a Ph.D. from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Amir Kabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). This website serves as a portal to my professional journey, research endeavors, and the collaborations that have enriched my career in civil engineering.

- Academic Excellence

My academic journey has been characterized by distinction, consistently placing within the top 5% in my B.Sc., M.Sc program and 1St rank in Ph.D. program. I have had the privilege of teaching and sharing knowledge in various capacities, serving as a Adjacent lecturer and teaching assistant at distinguished institutions. Most of my roles have included:

Adjacent Lecturer And Teaching Assistant For:

  • Statics, Strength of Materials and Design of Concrete Structures I, II, Design of steel Structures II, Concrete Technology, Concrete Mechanic Lab.
  • - Laboratory Experience

My career has been significantly enriched by my dedication to conducting and analyzing tests across the fields of structure, earthquake, and geotechnics. With over 8 years of experience as a senior expert and laboratory consultant in the Structural and Materials Testing Laboratory at AUT, I have contributed to numerous high-profile industrial projects, performing analyses and writing technical reports. My role has facilitated the successful supervision of industrial projects and experimental research for 22 MSc students and 7 Ph.D. students, under the mentorship of esteemed professors in our field. In this capacity, I’ve also been deeply involved in the Concrete Mechanics laboratories, developing a profound expertise in laboratory techniques and the application of various characterization tools. These include Universal Testing Machines (UTM) like the Dartec-9600 (1000KN) and Gotech for static, dynamic, and fatigue loading tests, as well as advanced tools for non-destructive testing such as ultrasound and CT scans, DIC/PIV for image processing, and SEM/thin-section for microstructural analysis.
